Study and life at the secondary school

Features of the studies

The secondary school offers 4-year studies in the discipline called Economy and business which is suitable for pupils with finished compulsory primary education. Since September 2011, the organization of education has been changed. The school is now a boarding school. The students spend every second weekend at school, i.e. 2 weekends per month. During the weekends, the students have the opportunity to practice their speaking abilities of English. They take part in different leisure activities lead by native speakers.  The new training programme of education will enable the effective connection between the studies and the practical application of gained knowledge. The students will practice the skills which are necessary for successful entrepreneurship and for effective selling of various goods and services. They will communicate with the top professionals from foreign countries who will mediate the best know-how for the students.

In April 2011 the owner of the school changed which meant the overall change of the conception of the school in three key areas for the students from the 1st year:

  • Postponed school fees Enabling the studies our school for students from socially handicapped families is one of the main priorities of the school's owner. That is the reason for introducing of postponed fees instead of traditional fees (they were introduced in 1992). During the whole time of the studies, all the students' expenses are paid by the school's owner (textbooks and other materials, accommodation, leisure activities during the weekends). The parents of the students/ the students' guardians pay for boarding only. The graduates start paying the postponed school fees as soon as they start working. They have to pay 15% of their gross income for two years.
  • Internátní režim studia. The school became a boarding school on 1st September 2011. This makes the opportunity for students from more distant regions to study at the school. The dormitory is opposite the school. The school canteen is also situated near the dormitory. Leisure activities during the week and the weekends are designed for learning English naturally, i.e. the students are accompanied by native speakers on trips and during various actions. For all the activities during the week and weekends we provide the pedagogical supervision.
  • Interconnection of theory and practice. The practical trainings take place one day a week. The students communicate with the foreign top entrepreneurs via videoconference and during this, they are learning about all activities concerning sale and trade. The students might also try the business activity practically and consult it with the professionals. The continuous practical training of the students takes place in different firms.
